2. Chemical and Physical Properties
Appearance: Greenish-Grey or Greenish-Yellow round tablets (pellets)
Odour: Carbide-like or Garlic-like and ammonia odour
Chemistry: The products are noncombustible but exposure to Moist air releases toxic phosphine gas which may be flammable, It also quickly gives off ammonia (NH3), a pungent smelling warning gas and carbon dioxide.
Reaction equation ALP + 3H2O ==> PH3+ AL(OH)3
NH2COONH4 ==> 2NH3 + CO2
Tablets: 3.0 gram per tablet which releases 1.0 gram phosphine gas.
Pellets: 0.6 gram per pellet which releases 0.2 gram phosphine gas.
3. Advantage of Aluminum phosphide
a. Aluminum phosphide has a high insecticidal efficiency.
b. Aluminum phosphide is economical and convenient.
c. Aluminum phosphide will absorb quickly when it contact with water or acid, then releasing phosphine gas, which is highly toxic.

5. Aluminum phosphide Applications:
a. Used for fumigation of grain, grain products, oilseeds and dried potatoes.
b. In sealed warehouses or containers, it can directly destroyed all types of stored grain pests and killing mice in the warehouse and pests.
c. Mites, lice, leather in family and store, feather type of moth are also valid.
d. Used in a sealed greenhouse, glass houses, plastic shed. It can directly kill all underground, above ground pests and mice, and can penetrate to a killing of stem borers in plants, root nematode pests.
